Sarah & Eric’s Quaker Wedding, July 6th 2024

Congrats Sarah & Eric! This casual and fun wedding was an absolute pleasure to shoot. Even though it was threatening to rain, the clouds parted and the summer weather was perfect. This was my first time shooting a Quaker wedding and I very much enjoyed it. Quaker weddings offer a spiritual approach to marriage, reflecting the core values of the Religious Society of Friends. Rooted in simplicity, equality, and communal support, these ceremonies focus on the inner significance of the union. Instead of elaborate rituals and ornate decorations, Quaker weddings center around a period of silent worship, where guests come together in quiet reflection and personal connection. There is no formal officiant because the ceremony reflects the belief that everyone has direct access to the divine. The ceremony unfolds as a testament to the couple’s commitment, witnessed by their community, and highlights the spiritual essence of their partnership. Sarah and Eric’s ceremony was a truly beautiful thing to witness.

I shot candid photos throughout the day and in between the merriment after the ceremony we shot lots of photos of the happy couple and their beautiful sheltie dog, Indy. She was such a good girl who was eager to pose for photos. I am very happy with how it all turned out and I hope to shoot many more Quaker wedding in the future. Thanks to everyone involved for being so cooperative and welcoming. Here are just a select few of my fav shots from this wonderful day (click on the images for full size gallery view)…

Congrats again Sarah & Eric (and Indy)! ❤️
